Douglas Brooks is a Board Member of Chord Energy and serves on the Audit and Reserves Committee and the Safety and Sustainability Committee. He previously served as Chair of the Oasis Petroleum Board of Directors, and as Chief Executive Officer of Oasis Petroleum from late 2020 to early 2021. Mr. Brooks has 40 years of experience in the industry. Previously, Mr. Brooks served on the Board of Directors of California Resources Corporation from 2020 to 2023, the Board of Directors of Chaparral Energy, Inc. from 2017 to 2020 and the Board of Directors of Madalena Energy Inc. (now Centaurus Energy, Inc.) in Canada.

Mr. Brooks spent the first 24 years of his career with Marathon Oil Company in roles of increasing responsibility, most recently serving as Director of upstream mergers and acquisitions and business development for the Americas. From 2006 to 2012, Mr. Brooks built two private equity-sponsored firms focused on unconventional resource projects in the western U.S. In 2012, he served as a Senior Vice President at Forest Oil Corporation. From 2012 to 2014, he served as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Aurora Oil & Gas Limited until it merged with Baytex Energy Corp. From 2015 to 2016, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Yates Petroleum Corporation, a privately owned exploration and production company, which merged with EOG Resources. In 2017 and 2018, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Board of Directors for Energy XXI Gulf Coast, Inc., an offshore Gulf of Mexico exploration and production company, until the company was acquired by an affiliate of Cox Oil LLC.

Mr. Brooks holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Wyoming, Casper, and a Master of Business Administration, Finance, from Our Lady of the Lake University in Texas.
